Definition

[es-pree de less-ka/-iay] (idiom) A witty remark that occurs to you too late, literally on the way down the stairs. The Oxford Dictionary of Quotations defines esprit de l'escalier as, "An untranslatable phrase, the meaning of which is that one only thinks on one's way downstairs of the smart retort one might have made in the drawing room."

I got a holga a while back and finally got the guts to play around with it. Since it's medium format film, it takes two weeks to get processed, and the prints came back right around when my internet went out and my apartment was covered in boxes. I have some color shots that I'll be sharing later.

I dug the prints out of a box last night so I could post a couple of shots to the On a Wednesday Flickr pool. The photos are better larger, so click on them to see them bigger.

The first two photos are from my old street, in the morning. The last is from the Chicago Botanic Garden.
